So Valve had has updated it’s customer review system, and the predictable outrage occurred, as it always does whenever Valve changes anything about steam, or doesn’t release Half Life 3. And I have to admit, I kind of got caught up in the moment and spent a bit of time reacting when I should have been thinking. So I’ve done a little thinking, and things aren’t all bad.
Last time I did another #FF post I got 2 lovely take aways. 1) I really enjoyed talking about how great people are and 2) Lots of people seemed to dig it too. So I’m gonna write about a few people I follow (in case you didn’t know I’ve also changed my twitter handle to @ALWyvern), who I really think it’s worth your time to follow on Twitter. I would include other social media if I ever frequented it so you’ll just have to make do. Please remember these are in no particular order!
Also please note this list is far from definitive, and if you’re not on it, it’s only because I don’t have time to write about all the awesome people in my feed, I’ll get to you eventually!
Time for another look at some games I’ve been playing lately. As I haven’t had a whole heap of time to play games the list won’t be too long, nor to surprising. Nonetheless I’m delve a little into them to tell you what I think.
Crew member Marcus Anders, ostensibly captain, if only because no one else wanted the job, floated in zero gee, silently contemplating with deep aforethought whether or not to make the effort of leaving his station and getting some coffee in the mess. Anders didn’t hate zero gee, but he didn’t love it either. And though everyone swore blind that it made no difference to the taste, zero gee coffee just wasn’t the same. He was pretty sure it had something to do with all the fluid in his head blocking up his nose and filling his sinus but he was no doctor. He glanced at the clock, almost oh eight hundred hours ship time.
Since I got the new heatsink I’ve been spending what little free time I’ve had in the last couple of weeks just trying to catch up on everything but even so I’ve gotten a few things done.
So my computer is still down, however my replacement heat sink is due to arrive tomorrow so should be back to business as usual next week! It also doesn’t help that I’ve come down with some pretty rough sinusitis, but then maybe now is the best time when I couldn’t do anything anyway right?
So for now I’ll leave you with a couple of recommendations…
Unfortunately my computer’s CPU is continually overheating, so I’ll have to wait to payday to order a new cooler as it seems the old one is has gone the way of the dodo. I’m actually writing this on my Wife’s old laptop which is currently roasting my legs. Thankfully it’s payday next week so hopefully only 2 weeks till I get the part.
In other news the station generator is coming along nicely, once my computer is up and running again I’ll be able to publish it fairly shortly after that. Major new features are a much cleaned up UI, and more station types, the Bridget’s cross, the circle and the ring so variability is much improved.
I’ve also now got a Steam GreenLight account up and running so at some point in the future the station generator will be going on GreenLight, and very soon The Willow Effect will be gong up, I just have to set up the page and descriptions and such and make it live.
So while today’s post has been pretty short at least some of it has been sweet!
